I was playing the normal King of Tokyo game with 4 people. I rolled an attack and damaged the player who was currently in Tokyo. He decided to stay. Then I purchased the Tanks card, granting me 4 stars while dealing 3 damage to myself. At that point I was down to 3 hearts, and the person in Tokyo decided that he DID want to leave and force me to occupy Tokyo, now that I was in a vulnerable health condition. I think leaving Tokyo should be decided before purchases are made, but he thinks it's fair game at any point during a turn. Can you solve this argument?
The current occupant of Tokyo may only decide to leave after being attacked. After the attack phase is over, the player whose turn it is may purchase cards, and then player turn changes. Simply put: no takesies-backsies on your Tokyo decisions!
